Den Parents serve as the shepherds of the young, protecting the Cubs and kinfolk of the sept. They are in charge of the training of the Cubs, and can assign others to help them with this task. Den Parents also guard the local kinfolk from harm and mistreatment. They have the power to punish anyone who harms or kills a kinfolk, and Den Parents can only be overruled by a vote of the Council of Auspices in such matters. In most Septs, there are two Den Parents.
Some of the subjects that cubs are supposed to learn from the Den Father and Mother:
- The rules of Garou society.
- The rules of the litany.
- History of Garou Society.
