Saturday 20 December (19 november?)

I arrived at the Bluepelt sept today to announce myself to the Alpha and the others of the sept. However it seemed they were all very agitated at my time of arrival, it seemed that the holes in the Umbra that I came to investigate had grown into a problem most severe, some even mentioned it could have been the collapse of the entire Umbra. I should investigate if this statement is true, if it was indeed such a great problem that the entire world was at stake I believe we should ask someone with some more authority to look at the problem and at the solution we were able to make to see if any more problems have arisen and that the original problem has indeed been solved adequately. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

There was a great discussion going on because the leeches who were responsible for the holes on the Umbra were supposedly trying to obtain a book called ‘Des Lupines’ which contained much information about our kind. Apparently including a ritual which could negate our powers and perhaps even kill us outright. This ritual could not fall in their hands. Then the sky opened up and Luna showed us a vision were the leeches performed a vile ritual and obtained the book.

Immediately we set out to take it from their hands. Rain, the Alpha, first gave us some pointers on how to harm the leeches and told us all to run in a pack. I ran with one under the leadership of Sebastiaan ´Hides the Hoard´ Deveraux. Our pack used a power of Sebastiaan to speak to each other mentally and then we summoned an air spirit to temporarily deafen us so that we may be immune to the leeches’ poisoned words. The battle ensued promptly and we defeated the leeches and what appeared to be mortals associating with them. We captured the book.

Our pack returned to the cearn to safe keep it while the others went after more leeches. There was some confusion going on about who was to hold it, it seemed to have a malevolent influence on some. ‘Wears the Umbra’, lead a ritual to summon the spirit of the Phoenix and we infused it with our power and asked it to burn the book. All though the flames roared around the scrolls most furiously, the papers themselves remained unharmed. Sebastiaan kept hold of it while it was burning, saving himself by using some tricks taught to him by his grandfather apparently. Seeing as we could not destroy it and it could never fall into the hands of the leeches we started to make a plan to hide it somewhere safe. We started to draw up plans to hide it in the one place no leech could ever reach, inside Helios itself!

However before the plans were completed it seemed the umbra itself was on the verge of collapse and it needed to be repaired by a special ritual this instant. This ritual was under the control of the leeches who wanted the book. They wished to trade it for the book. We also got an offer by the Weaver spirits of Delft who wanted a substantial part of Delft, a part belonging to the Wyld in return. Also more leeches appeared at the bar claiming they could fix our problems.

After some discussion the only option seemed to be to trade with the Leeches. Rain and Sebastiaan and a small amount of other Garou were to negotiate, other packs waited anxiously outside the building and on the Umbra. At a certain point the negotiations ended in combat and the packs rushed in to attack the leeches and obtain the ritual while protecting the book. After a few precarious moments both the book and the ritual was taken and the leeches were being shown the fighting skills of the Garou. However to my knowledge the leader, a female leech, was not present at the negotiations and is still running wild outside.

Still the book and the ritual were ours. We returned to the cearn to perform the ritual when we were attacked by some powerful banes called Factoids. Some were performing the ritual while others had to defend the participants, somehow I got mixed up with the fighters instead of the ones performing the ritual. Oh dear, that was a problem indeed! The Factoids had us surrounded and more were coming in. They were most powerful and were slowly taking down Garou after Garou. I did the best I could healing those in need and even resorting to fighting after most Garou had gone down and a Factoid was killing the fallen. However fighting is just not what I was meant to do for Gaia, especially considering my ‘special’ condition. In the end the Factoids were defeated, and the ritual had been completed. But the price was great indeed. Five proud Garou had fallen in battle. I quickly performed a ritual to obtain some power of the ones left standing to be able to safe some of the Garou who where close to death and needed healing immediately.

Rain offered the fallen ones a respectful rite for the departed and now we can try and pick up the pieces. It seems I have come to the Bluepelt sept in a most dire time indeed. But I am sure we shall prevail, better times will come and we Garou shall stand proud once more soon enough.
