Rite of Passage
Every Garou starts his life as an unknowing Cub. These cubs are taught by the Den Father and Mother as to what it means to be a garou and what tasks they have. When the Denparents decide that a Cub has learned all he needs to know to venture forth in this world, and has proven himself, they give him his Rite of Passage. A final task to test both the cubs knowledge and skill as a Garou.
These tasks are almost always unique and specifically chosen to be a challenge to the cub. Most times the task plays on a flaw the cub must realise before he can call himself a grown up.
As the cub performs this Rite, the Denparents watch him closly, ready to act if needed. When the cub completes the task, he is given his Garou name and the rank of Cliath. Usually the name given relates to something done during the test, other times it refers to the nature of the cub.
